In Summer 2008, the English cricket team came to Wellington on the back of a disappointing defeat in the
1st Test at Hamilton the previous week. Into the team came Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson whilst
Steve Harmison and Matthew Hoggard were unceremoniously dropped
Jen went to the first four days of the Test whilst Andy watched three of them. On those three days, Andy and
Jen were accompanied by Pete and Chantal (see the trip to Australia for more details)
The match was pretty exciting with some drunk Kiwi bloke falling down the Basin Reserve's grass bank
onto his face, and getting featured on Sky NZ and Sky UK along with the nearby Jen, Andy and Chantal
The cricket itself was fairly slow paced, but England emerged victorious on Day Five with good
performances from Tim Ambrose (in only his second test) and Ryan Sidebottom.

The seagulls just couldn't keep away - even with fielders and spectators running all over the place,
there was always a vantage point for them to use. |
